Re: problems with PDF generation

Yes, we have had a lot of issues with PDFs generated by using the "Save as PDF" option when printing in OS X. The PDFs do not always import into Illustrator or InDesign correctly either (Mac or Windows). It does seem to occur most when saving PDFs that use any fonts that came with OS X. Another fix I have used is to open the generated PDF in Acrobat 6/7 on the Mac and either use the "Reduce File Size" or "Save As" options. That seems to clear things up.

Is anyone experiencing problems with pdf's generated by Quartz (from a webpage in safari)? The problem was that the PDF's where damaged when opened on a windows/ acrobat system. On OS X the pdf's where fine. The error was that the text was all garbled, more or less random at the end of the pdf (sometimes on page 40, sometimes on 38, etc.)

The solution was to generate the PDF by Acrobat 7.0 (os x).
(after triple checking my xhtml/css)

But I'm interested to hear similar problems or solutions...

(maybe I should file a bug report to apple as well)

cheers
