Re: Web development software question

I use Transmit for FTP (awesome program), and in its preferences, I have it set up so if I double click a file in its list, the file opens in Pagespinner (which is a web site builder's text editor which is excellent). I have BBEdit and use it for quick modifications to existing web sites (it can open a page right from the web site and save the modified page back to the web site), but Pagespinner works better for me for web site building. (BBEdit is a heavy duty programmer's program, and I use it to search multiple files for find and replace. There is much to learn about BBEdit, and I am sure that I haven't discovered all its features.) Pagespinner has a feature where I click on a button and it opens the current page in the web browser of my choice. Also the features I need for inserting html into web pages are right there without searching through a bunch of things that I don't need. I also have Dreamweaver which allows wysiwig editing, and I have it set to use Pagespinner as the external editor. Dreamweaver is great for keeping track of links (if I move a page to another folder, it will change all the links), but Pagespinner runs very much faster on my older Macs. As I upgrade my hardware, I may use Dreamweaver more than I am now. However I find that even with Dreamweaver, it is essential to preview pages in an actual web browser.

Hi all.
I just wanted to ask a question regarding
preferred design software on Mac OSX.
I already have Photoshop and Illustrator,
but could anyone please give me a list of their
required (or elective) software and/or
utilities they use?
Any info would be appreciated. Off list is fine too.
Thanks for any help.
Yours,
Dan
