Re: Javascript problem on localhost

Does your Javascript console, in Safari, give any clues?

Does the Javascript attempt to reference another URL, or a path on localhost?

All the best.

Hello all,

We've been having a nagging problem with a portable demo server that we use to show our website where people have no internet connection. It's a laptop configured to be a server with most of our website on it. PHP and MySQL work just fine on it, but for some reason it doesn't execute JavaScript when referencing localhost even though JavaScript works just fine when we're plugged into the Internet for any other site than localhost.

From my comprehension of JavaScript, it's supposed to execute scripts client-side. Why would being on localhost or another site change anything?

Thanks for any pointers or keywords I could use to search for an answer!
