charset=utf-8 - bbedit

I'm using BBEdit to create a new web page
	File => New HTML Document...

When I go and view the index page I get errors from Safari Tidy (http://www.zappatic.net/safaritidy/). Some of the warnings: - plain text isn't allowed in <head> elements - <meta> isn't allowed in <body> elements - so on...

It seems there is something wrong with the "content-type" and "charset", but it looks fine to me. What am I missing?
