Re: Mailing List/Membership Software

Well I really did not want to pay an ongoing fee, but once to buy the app if necessary is OK. I did see a lot of that type of service online. But this is not a campaign, it's for an org that wants to track members. I could have made a simple form, but they said it would involve an extra step to take the info. However, the info is captured in a form that needs 'cleaning up' in any case. I just hope they don't mind.

This what I am talking about is Mailing List Manager software that captures up to 20 fields of info but it is amazingly primitive in other ways.

It has no archiving capabilities but that's OK since this is not a chat list.
And the message will have to be done via a template I can have the people copy and paste, since they will not know how to type in the code for the variables such as
'Dear $full_name$,' from memory. <sigh>

And the configuration hangs out so that the org's 'secretary' will have to be VERY careful she doesn't mess up the setup when she is in there posting messages.

But you can't have it all.
If only DADA Mail could capture just a few more fields it would be the ideal, which I already had installed.

Have you looked at Campaign Monitor (www.campaignmonitor.com)? I
haven't used it yet but this looks like a solid solution. This is a
paid online service but at a reasonable price. Check out the features
(www.campaignmonitor.com/features/) to see what it can do for you.

I can only second this. We are using campaignmonitor and love it. They provide very nices Statistics about opened newsletters, bounces, clickthroughs etc. too. Great service, reasonable price and very good support!
