Re: Form Mail (cgi or php)

I've tried your suggestion and it failed. This is the error msg that I get:
The requested URL /action="" class="moz-txt-link-rfc2396E" href="http://www.domain1.com/cgi/gdform.cgi">"http://www.domain1.com/cgi/gdform.cgi" was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Here is the code:

<form action= "" class="moz-txt-link-rfc2396E" href="http://www.domain1.com/cgi/gdform.cgi">"http://www.domain1.com/cgi/gdform.cgi" method="post">
        <input type="hidden" name="subject" value="Form Submission-Domain2" />
        <input type="hidden" name="redirect" value="thankyou.htm" />
        <p>First Name:<input type="text" name="FirstName" /></p>
        <p>Last Name:<input type="text" name="LastName" /></p>
        <p>E-Mail Address:<input name="email" type="text" value="enter a valid email address" /></p>
        <p>Comments:<textarea name="comments" cols="40" rows="10" wrap="hard">Type comments here.</textarea>
        </p>
        <input name="submit" type="submit" id="submit" />
        &nbsp; <input name="reset" type="reset" id="reset" />
        </form>

Thanks for your input and hopefully I can get this resolved.

Without seeing the code --my first guess is that domain 2 has relative paths to the script.

Like this-  ../cgi-bin/script

try this for domain2

obviously you would use your domain and path to the script. Do the same for the redirect page that tells the user they were successful.

The hosting company doesn't provide support for scripting so I thought I would try here.

I have form mail set up with www.domain1.com and this is the "master domain" (located in
/ ). The second domain, www.domain2.com is aliased to /domain2. When I tried to use the form mail with domain2, I get errors like "not available on this server" and such. I have also tried to copy the /cgi to /domain2 as well as the .php file used for form mail and this didn't work either. Now, I can easily fix this (if I want an ad banner across the top of the site) by using the free hosting credits that I have so that domain2 is hosted separately. This is not an option.

I've been told by others that I can use the same form mail for multiple domains. What am I doing wrong or is this just not supported?

Thanks!

Brandy
