| Hi. New to this list, but would appreciate any help/tips anyone can provide. I have some HTML code written by an external developer which displays a header row for a report which can be expanded/collapsed when the user clicks on an image (+/- sign). The value displayed in the first cell in the row depends upon whether the row is expanded or collapsed. The HTML code for the table row contains two cells at the beginning of the row, one of which is displayed and the other hidden depending on the expanded state of the row (CSS and _javascript_ are also involved). A simplified form of the code which demonstrates the problem I am seeing is available for view at <http://www.learnstar.com/AliR/sample.html>. When displayed under IE on Windows, the row spans the width of the browser window. When the "+" sign is clicked, the value of the first cell in the row changes from "10" to "0" (and back again when you click on the "-" sign). When displayed under Safari on the Mac (and WebKit, which is where it will ultimately be displayed in the client application), the row does not span the width of the browser window. When the "+" sign in clicked, the first cell of the row disappears, the other rows are shifted to the left, and the hidden "0" cell appears at the end of the row. Clicking on the "-" sign changes the value of the last cell from "0" back to "10", but it is still at the end of the row. The external developer who wrote this code has been unable to come up with a solution so far that works under Safari. I'm the Mac developer for the client applications (Cocoa, Objective-C, C++), but my knowledge of HTML/CSS/_javascript_ is limited and I've been unable to come up with a fix for the problem so far. I would greatly appreciate any help/tips/pointers as to how to solve this problem. Thanks in advance. -- Michael Babin email@hidden Order N Development, LLC http://www.orderndev.com/ Goldfish Aquarium for Mac: http://www.lifeglobe.com/product/index.php?pltid=2&ref=OrderNDev |
