I have a website using several open-source apps: WordPress, OSCommerce, phpBB, Gallery and MediaWiki.

These are currently running under PHP 4.4.2. Updating MediaWiki to 1.8.2 requires PHP 5. Is PHP 5 backwards compatible to PHP 4. IOW, will updating PHP from 4.4.2 to 5.1.2 likely cause problems in any of these open source programs.
