Are you looking to write your own? (can't help you there)...

I've used Zoom from wrensoft a couple of times, seems to work pretty well/ found it pretty easy to set up... Its free for limited amount of pages (think 50) ... then there are couple of pay levels... wrensoft.com/zoom

What's the general/current wisdom on creating a search function for a 50
page website? Just something that indexes a site and provides up-to-date
results. I know there are Goggle options, things like Pico Search, etc. I
noticed my Verio accounts now have htDig available, which I imagine a client
with an in-house sever would have trouble setting up? Thanks for any
feedback.
