Have checked your syslog or system.log file(s) on that box for the source of the errors?

I've been trying to build and run a subversion server that is secure and authenticates against Active Directory. I've scoured the web and have found several examples how this can be done but they aren't working for me. I can get 3/4 or 2/4 things working together but not 4/4. Currently, Apache 2.2.3 is working great with SSL and LDAP. I built Subversion 1.3.2 and I can checkout a repository but am unable to commit to it.
svn: Commit failed (details follow):
svn: Can't close activity db: Internal error
I'm not using BDB (although is is installed for OpenLDAP) so I'm not sure what the internal error could be. I'm thinking it is a permissions error but I cannot see it. Has anyone run into this problem? Any ideas? starting troubleshooting places?
