The Next Steps

Firstly, apologies – I'm not a professional interface developer by trade, more a designer who moonlights for extra money. So sorry if it's a redundant question.

I'm looking for some guidance onto the next book I should be investing in, moving on from Jeffery Zeldman's – "Big Orange book." I guess I mean I understand completely the theories and practices Jeffery outlines, but the world of development probably moves quicker than the internet itself and I'd like to pull myself up to 2008 standards. For example, is it still common practice to use "@import", "skip navigation" and "access keys", moreover what are "conditionals" and how do I implement them?

Again, apologies for the post that may seem in-experienced, but if somebody could point me in the right direction I would be most grateful.

Cheers
Rich

*I also have Eric Meyers – CSS the definitive guide, but use it more as a reference manual.
