Re: protect images from download



Trying to be a little less political about it, there are a couple of ways that make capturing harder, but not impossible. Basically, you can try to get people to move on to an easier target, but if they are willing to take screenshots and recreate the images from those then they will succeed.

The most popular way is using one of the countless flash-based picture viewers.
Pro: Easy to use
Con: Requires Flash Plugin, irritates users

Then there's the JS event blocking way, blocking event processing by adding bogus event handlers, therefore disabling right-click.
Pro: Works in every browser
Con: Easily circumvented using scripts

And finally there's the puzzle way.
Split the image in a high number of puzzle pieces and reassemble them on-page using CSS
Pro: Works in every browser
Con: Requires some work to set up, breaks zooming
