Re: 10.3.9 Changes to Webkit

There's a tech note on the Java and 10.3.9 issue at : http:// docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301380

Hi,
Not sure if this helps any, with the current fun of 10.3.9, but I am using
stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString and it works OK, but I'm just
executing javascript on the page, so it might be something else which is
broken, but I thought I report this finding if it helps anybody.

Although I haven't escaped untouched, as I have been bitten by the "java
-version" crash :-(, which is being reported in Macworld for our App, - Doh
!!!.

Thanks
Mark.

I am in the same boat as Dave -- all the WebViews in my app no longer
respond to "stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString:" which was being used to
load local HTML files from the HD in an AppleScript Studio app. It worked
great as of 10.3.8.

And of course I picked this weekend to roll out a new version of my app,
smack into the middle of a mess.... The good news is that the 10.3.9
problems break old versions of my app too, so at least it's consistent!

Yes, this happened to my app on Tiger too... which is where I identified it
first. I decided that I should make sure that the problem didn't start in
10.3.9 and, sure enough, it did.

My guess is that your app is broken by 10.3.9 too.

I have my web developer looking into the 'content' side of things right now.
I'll post if we discover anything.

I'm having trouble with some (rather complicated) JavaScript content that
worked fine in my 10.3.8 WebViews, but no longer gives the same behavior with
the latest 10.3.9 (Build 7W94) changes, effectively breaking my app.

The same thing happens to my app on Tiger, probably it's the same change.
Have you tried on Tiger?
I would like to get info too, because as you know it's very difficult to
debug complicated JS in WebView
