Do you think it's possible to do so?
I have been able to debug the WebKit code by building with the scripts,
then opening the project of interest (WebCore for me) in Xcode. Then I
make my custom executable for the project that uses WebKit and point it
at the framework that I built and set breakpoints in WebKit code as
necessary. It has worked just fine and it was not necessary to build
with the Xcode projects.
Plugins may be different, so please pardon me if this is useless info. :-)
P.S. Please also note the "Getting WebKit XCode project to work" thread.
It seems that Matt Lilek knows how to make the Xcode projects build
