i think you should try, first, to use import image with the scanner. To do this take a look at this thread: http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=757497

I hope this can help you, but I'm sure there's an easier way...

Then you can convert the image in NSData and store it in the db, I think this should work...
