| Christian, The official word from Apple is that WebObjects is "certified" to run under Java 1.4.2, but there are no known issues running WebObjects under Java 5 (JDK 1.5.x). I run WebObjects under Java 5 without any problems. If you haven't done anything specific to tell WebObjects to run under Java 1.4.2 on the system with both 1.4.2 and 1.5 installed it will use the default Java, which would be 1.5.
