Re: nice error messages

This, by the way, seems like a bug to me that there isn't a place in the adaptor config file to set the default redirect url for non- existent applications without going through what Patrick describes.
Dear WebObjects,
I am sorry about the disparaging remark I made about you having a bug. I should have trusted that in your wise age you have solutions to all of my needs that are even documented in your deployment guide if I was not too lazy to have found it.
Love,
Mike

In /System/Library/WebObjects/Adaptors/Apache/apache.conf, there is a setting WebObjectsOptions (which annoyingly is not presented with an example in the same config file -- Pierre?) which lets you pass in various key-value pairs to the adaptor. In particular, one named "redir". See page 41 of the deployment guide for the others.

The example:
WebObjectsOptions redir=http://www.apple.com

This value is used when there is no application-specific redirect url available. In particular, this can happen if your app is turned off completely or someone mistypes the woa name.
