This has come out several times before. It is related to how X11.app sets 
the environment when it's launched from the Finder. One (clean) way is to 
set or modify an appropriate .plist file. I don't have a ref handy, at the 
moment, but you can search the archives.

A cheap way out I often use is to launch X11 as:

	open -a X11

from the terminal. This way it inherits the correct environment.
