xemacs: a clue?

Here is an extract from the message of the other user who has the same problem:

My os is 10.2.4 upgraded from 10.1. My guess is that
somthing is wrong with /usr/lib because of that?
... What should /usr/lib look like and how can I fix it?

I also upgraded by installing 10.2 on top of 10.1. In /usr/lib I find a number of symlinks whose creation dates are

However I did note that when
installing on his system, fink picked up
xfree86-base-shlib (4.2.1.1-3). and this was not
automatically installed on my system (!?)

Fink doesn't list this package any more, but xfree86-base-sh is not installed on my system. Should it be?
