Have you considered trying XDarwin or something other than the Apple X11? XDarwin is going to be a lot more likely to be up to date with XFree86 sources. And since Apple seems to be giving Jaguar uses the cold shoulder, I don't see that we can reliably use the Apple X11.app going forward.


It's a shame, considering the better integration Apple's X11 has with the system, using quartz-wm. I am going to switch back to XDarwin myself, due to the flaws in X11.app that Apple will not address until year end (and then only for $130 US)!.
