I'm trying to track down a conflict between the fonts of my stock apple X11
installation (OSX 10.3) and Gimp 2.0.5. I' m hoping for a little help
understanding how the system fonts are converted, handled and configured; how
the Apple fonts are made to work with X11, and such.
The bug initiating my quest is that Gimp 2.0.5 crashes after selecting the
text tool and then scrolling to the font names beginning with "g" the fonts
list.
Gimp bugzilla response to my bug report was:
" There is obviously a broken font installed on your system then which causes
problems in either FreeType, FontConfig or Pango libraries. Definitely nothing
we can do anything about. You would have to try to isolate the broken font,
then find out where exactly the crash happens. We could help you with the
latter if you could make available the broken font file."
Did a little searching for font config tools in X11, but found I need a little
guidance.
Help appreciated!
