Well, I downloaded Gentoo 2005.1 install cd for powerpc. It has parted 1.6.20 with HFS shrink patch 16.

I'm afraid I can't help you further then, all I can say is that it has always worked fine for me (on my iBook G3, iBook G4 and PowerMac G5).
