will x11 ever be readable by voiceover or gnopernicus?

I am a blind mac user, from what i under stand the x11 app is a xwindows display application to enable gui for linux based apps for example gnome desktop with darwinports or fink.

I am unable to do the following and was wondering what can be done to resolve this compatibility issue. I am unable to read anything in the x11 window. I am unable to start gnopernicus in the gnome desktop via x11 because lack of receved information as a blind user. I am unable to varify if the gnome desktop i running in order to start gnopernicus.

it would be nice to have some voice over readable info in x11 at leat eough to get gnopernicus started to take over from where voice over leaves off.

Hi,
I have an XView application that I have been running on Apples X11 from the beginning, but after the last X11 update with the fixes for GL graphics I am now having a problem.
I have the width of the window set so that it is as wide as the monitor screen that it opens on using this instruction in the programs  C code.

XV_WIDTH,XV_DISPLAY,

Since update when I open the initial window it is now almost twice as wide as the actual display is, no matter the size of the display or the resolution of the display. I could change the command to a predefined size, easy fix. But is there a preference or other setting that I could change so that the window will only open to the actual width of the display?
The problem seems to be that X11 is giving the wrong width dimension to the application when it opens. Any help appreciated.

thanks,
Eric
