Yes it should be except that line will never be reached due to the exec on the line above it. See my previous message.

The last line should be just
exec xterm

(i.e., delete the "&"). The xinitrc script must continue running until
you decide to end your session. With the "&", xterm goes into the
background and xinitrc ends immediately, thus terminating your X
session.
