Well, I guess there's small consolation in the fact that I haven't

doing anything wrong, but non-X-based apps completely defeats the
purpose
and meaning of having X11 at all.
What is the EXACT thing you're trying to do that does not work? Give
a description of what you do with the mouse and keyboard and the
result that surprises you.
