Did you go back to a tiger version of X11 and then re-update to the
leopard one or something?
My libfontconfig.1.dylib is version 3.
$ otool -L /usr/X11/lib/libfontconfig.1.dylib
/usr/X11/lib/libfontconfig.1.dylib:
