I was thinking of a nasty hack since I often use synergy with my macbook.

I noticed when I was playing around creating a keymapping file that
the mac sort of treats caps lock as a shift level, but I personally
have no use for caps lock.

So I've been meaning to experiment with adding other characters on
the caps lock 'modifier' so that it could work a bit like AltGr.

Then I'd make my synergy client on the mac map altgr to the sequence
caps lock on, <key>, caps lock off.

That way I can have Alt_L, Meta_L/Cmd_L, Alt_R, Meta_R/Cmd_R, _and_ ISO_Shift_level3/AltGR

e.g. 'z' with caps lock could generate omega.
