Unfortunately, the X11 shipped with Leopard was alpha-quality at best.
By upgrading to the latest "alpha" release you can get a fairly
usable X server. The instructions for doing so are here:
http://www.x.org/wiki/XDarwin
Make sure to look at the "Quick Install" section for an easy upgrade experience.
