Re: getting Tiger's X11 running on Leopard

Hi, yes, I've updated to IDL 6.4.1. That resolved one issue so I could at least run IDL, but I now get semi-predictable X11 crashes when working with modestly large arrays of data (and in the most recent case, a simple iPlot tool when changing settings).

Thanks Paul. That got something installed, but X11 crashes before fully launching. I fear I will have to do a complete reinstall of Leopard X11 and then repeat Ben's instructions because I may have screwed something up while playing around trying to get this to work.

Did you try the instructions here:

Sorry to hear you have issues with IDL. I use IDL extensively myself and haven't noticed any issues, but I have to admit I haven't done any stress testing under Leopard (as I only have it on my laptop due to the X11 issues).

Out of interest, have you updated to the latest IDL 6.4.1 which includes patches for crashing with Leopard?

Jamie
