XDMCP: something to try

Instead of running "/usr/X11R6/bin/Xquartz -query 1.2.3.4 &", try running "/usr/X11/X11.app/Contents/MacOS/X11 -query 1.2.3.4 &" from Terminal.app. You'll probably have to click on the X11.app icon before you can log in -- but I just tried this with a Linux box and it seemed to work.
