The installer log indicates it has a problem with the fact that
/Library/Receipts/X11User.pkg exists. When I remove that file, it
works!
And X11.app from tiger works as it did previously. Hurrah! Thanks!
Although it looks like I'm stuck using quartz-wm for a while. When I
try to run my preferred window manager (ion), it fails with:
com.apple.x11[1449] dyld: Library not loaded: /usr/X11R6/lib/libSM.6.dylib
Referenced from: /usr/local/bin/ion3
Reason: no suitable image found. Did find:
/usr/X11R6/lib/libSM.6.dylib: mach-o, but wrong architecture
Quitting XDarwin...
Now to track this down...
