Can anyone explain the significance of the version.plist that XCode
creates in Cocoa app project directories? Is it related to the project or
the product?

I searched the XCode docs and release notes & didn't find reference
to it, and it doesn't show up in the project's file manifest. Does it
have to be present & in the same directory as the project?

TIA,
Christopher
