Unfortunately Winodows based computers are REALLY high-density Bogon emitters <see http://info.astrian.net/jargon/terms/q/quantum_bogodynamics.html>. As a result, they have been known to unduly influence any neighboring computers in unexpected ways.

The best way I've found to avoid that problem is to put a really goo Bogon sink close to the computer. For myself, I've found that a small doll of "Dogbert" (from the Dilbert cartoon) is a very effective Bogon sink. I've tried him in both low density bogon fields (say that of a co-worker to whom you are going to demonstrate the latest code you've written) and those high density bogon flux environments like having a PC right next to your Mac. In both cases I've had great success.
