Sorry, you're right - the SCM status of your project should not matter
if you're just comparing with another file on disc. Is anything logged
to the Console or system log at this point? Do you have more than one
system partition (with another install of the developer tools) mounted?
What version of Mac OS X, and Xcode, are you using, and how did you
install the development tools (have you had earlier versions installed,
or did you perform a clean, full, install)? Does it work if you reboot
and try the same thing from a new empty test project?
