Yeah. That is pretty bloody annoying, isn't it? I always strip those particular markers out of source because they are really terribly useless unless your software development process is otherwise utterly broken ...

Yep, that needed to be said. I believe that they are used to show off. See! I'm using code versioning.


In any case, it is easy to fix:

perl -pi -e 's/\$Id:.*\$//' *.[hcm]

Thanks, just the incentive I needed to remove them from my projects!
