Re: OT: Virtual PC 7 / Visual Studio 2003

We develop on OS X and Windows XP, 2003 platforms and It's not a solution, we have had better performance with a Pentium III at 600 Mhz that with a Dual G5 2,7 Ghz running Visual Studio. If you like the Mac but need to develop for Windows, do the following invest in the Dual 2.5 G5 and with the difference of price with the Quad buy a Opteron W, SUN for example, Opteron give us the best performance developing in Visual Studio. And don't forget to invest in 2GB or more of RAM.

Please don't hate me because I'm beau... er... posting this.

Has anyone had success running Visual Studio 2003 on a Quad G5 using Virtual PC? I need to find some real-life stats on performance while debugging, Intellisense, etc.

I am a M$ who recently fell in love with the Mac platform. I am trying to move to the platform but still need to support my existing .NET applicaitons. I am trying to use a PowerBook 1.67 Ghz with VirtualPC & VS.NET and it is painful. I WANT to buy a new Quad G5, but need to understand how it will handle out of the box.

Thanx,
