I think you misunderstood what I said.
I said that there normally is no reason to use Carbon functions in a "port" of an X11 program to OS X - you would normally just change the necessary things at the BSD level.

Also when I try to open XopenDisplay using X11 it returned NULL error . What
might be the reason for that?

Did you start the X11 server?
