Re: New G5 under Panther or XCode 1.5 under Tiger

After a long telephone call with the Apple support I have just found out

1) My brand new Power Mac G5 does not run Panther because of the new

That's basically always been the case for new models released after an OS release.

2) XCode 1.5 does not run under Tiger.
3) XCode 2.0 does not run under Panther.

Right, and as has been stated on this list several times, and as was the case when Panther and Xcode 1.x was introduced (Xcode 1.x only runs on Panther).

Despite the fact that it is simply incredible that a new Hardware does not
run an OS that only tow weeks behind the latest version in my special
environment it seems as if (at least for the moment) we would not be able to
build our application under XCode 2.0 because of problems in XCode 2.0 and
at the same time I'm neither able to run XCode 1.5 under Tiger nor to
install Panther on my new G5.

Is this really possible or am I just to stupid to understand the big picture
Apple has in mind? In my case I now have to return my new G5 and try to buy
an older G5 that still run's Panther.

Any help or comment are welcome

Perhaps if you mention what problems you have with Xcode 2.0 and your project, someone might be able to offer some suggestions.
