My initial guess is that the file in question was part of another build phase (say the Copy Bundle Resources build phase). I would look through all the build phases and see if the file reference shows up in more than one.

Deag&dropping the file into the Compile Sources phase fixed the problem, but I wonder how many other sources (the framework has a number of them) are missing the same way :)
