Ok, so as an addendum, I tried removing the tilde from my source tree to no avail. Thus, I am forced to conclude that source-tree-relative referencing is broken in Xcode 2.3. I will now upgrade to 2.4...

I would try an absolute path (/Users/markian/Document/...). I vaguely remember there being problems with tilde paths in source trees.
