It does look like Debugger() has better behavior, in that you can continue to step after you've popped up into the debugger (whereas the inline assembler options you can't continue). In the end, I used: if (AmIBeingDebugged()) pthread_kill(pthread_self(), SIGINT); This does the job nicely, avoids the inline assembler and the additional frameworks.
