It is really unfortunate that Apple has deprecated this. Cocoa/IB
is very
productive for building the interface. Using Java as the model has
significant advantages (IMHO).
I vaguely remember there's sort of an replacement for glueing Java
Models with Obj-C GUIs together, but I can't remember the right
buzzword right now :-{
And my company plans to re-write this application in cross-platform
Java,
but that's not planned till the end of this year at the earliest.
Two or three days ago there was a lengthy message (Georg Tuparev) on
the SciTech list why such an approach can be much worse: You mostly
loose the platform specific look, feel, workflow, etc. and it doubles
development time. He even had some research results regarding
development time.
