Hello,

I've never write anything for MacOS so I'm going to buy old iMac to learn it. I'm afraid it will run hardly Panther, not Tiger so I'd like to know what are the biggest differences btw Xcode 1.5 (I hope this will run on Panther) and Xcode 2.x (I've read this can be run on Tiger only - is it true?)?

There are many things one could say, but it really comes down to this:
The only thing you will not have is access to newer (that is, Tiger) SDKs and technologies, such as CoreData. Other than that, Xcode 1.5 is a fine tool to learn.

Of course, if you are developing in collaboration with others, you will have a problem that Xcode 1.5 can not read Xcode 2 project files - and I am not aware of a way to export a project file for Xcode 1.5

And yes, Xcode 2 requires Tiger.

Hope this helps a little bit

Alex
