How about just trying it? How about reading the newer Xcode's Readme?

I'm just now installing it. A very long download... I also discovered the laptop
I just bought from a private person has 2.0 installed on it. So I'm getting the
latest and greatest right now. I presume if I install it, it would install over the
2.0 ver - right?

Will take your suggestion and look for the new X-Code's readme.

Also, where can I download the latest X-Code 2.2 or are they up to
X-Code 2.3 now?

<http://connect.apple.com/> Xcode 2.2.1 is the lasted version known in public. It's Readme is available as a separate download.

Yup - Apple made it a lot easier for me to find it this time.
