Re: Debugger Break on Attach

Greetings list,

When I attach to a process in XCode, the execution of code is stopped. Is there any way to prevent this? It’s annoying to always have to immediately hit ‘continue’ every time I start a debugging session. I didn’t see a preference governing this behavior, but perhaps I missed something.

File an enhancement request for this. There's no way for the debugger to attach without stopping the program, but we could certainly put in a preference to have Xcode press continue for you...

Also, is there any way to detach the debugger without terminating the process?

If you type "detach" in the debugger Console window, you will detach without terminating the process. I don't think there's a way to do this in the UI. Again, that would be a good enhancement request.
