I am working on a code with external makefile and I use external
target to build it. Everything works fine except the Errors &
Warnings Smart Group. When I build the code I can see the errors in
the "Build Window" but it doesn't populate the corresponding smart
group. This feature worked with XCode 2.1 perfectly but something
went wrong in the latest versions (2.2 and 2.3).
If anyone has any experience with this, please let me know!
This has been the case from the start for build rules which are
scripts (rdar://4343667), only works partially for script build
phases (rdar://4389264) and it's now apparently also the case for
external makefile targets... File a bug report. I've heard the same
from the person who created Xcode plugins for the GNU Pascal Compiler
(which are also based on external makefile targets).
For script build phases, you can go to the build transcript and
double click on the errors there. Maybe this works for makefile
targets as well.
