Is there a specific reason you'd rather it select the text? I was used to it, too, but I haven't found a need for Xcode to do it the same way.

Many times, I would use that at a shortcut to select several full lines to either cut or copy. I suppose I could set a keybinding for "select line" and try to use it but it doesn't seem to work for me right now. I'll log a bug on it soon.

I also miss this CW feature. When I need to move a hunk of code, I could leave the insertion point anywhere in the first or last line, shift-arrow-up or shift-arrow-down to select the rest of the lines, command-[ or command-] to shift it to the new indentation, and that would select the entirety of the first and last lines so I could Cut. It's especially handy when you need to re-indent and move a single line, because it frees you up from having to select the entire line manually.
