Re: Renaming files in Xcode: Where are my gigaflops?

Something like this should be filed as a bugreport at bugreport.apple.com. I have actually even gone ahead trying to reproduce the issue, and could not.

I'm not looking for a bug fix really, I'm looking for a workaround [in case there's one]. Since this problem has been in Xcode since at least 2.3 and I would be rather (pleasantly) surprised to see a revision of Xcode before October 2007, I don't expect a bug fix in Xcode 2.x and I'm afraid I'm using Xcode 2.x right now.

When filing the bugreport, a sample will be helpful.

Comments like "a Macintosh LC is faster than that" are not helpful. As a general idea, write bugreports or complaints exactly the way you would like to receive them

I tend to believe that this comment (considering I gave the duration of the freeze I'm observing) is helpful as it shows that there's clearly a performance issue on this _specific_ task (and the speed comparison is based on facts). I agree that a comment just stating it's slow would not be useful on the contrary.
