I am working with C++ / Objective-C++ files with an average size of 2K
lines and few passing 4K on my Mac Book Pro (2 GHz C2D, 2 GiB RAM) and
so far things have been fast for me with all bells and whistles
enabled. I think we have a few files close to 7K lines but I cannot
recall which project they are apart of.

You best bet is to Shark Xcode when working with the files you find
slow and let Apple know via a bug report.
