"The Xcode Developer Tools will install by default into /Developer, but you may choose to install Xcode 3.0 anywhere on the system, including on partitions other than the boot volume. When changing the installation location, you must create a folder for the tools with the "New Folder" button in the location chooser."
Except if you attempt that I see..
